How to Increase Your Facebook Fan Base

Social networking plays an important role in business marketing. There are vast numbers of people who use these networking sites for both personal and business matters and so to reach potential customers and have a platform through which to showcase your business it is essential that you network online. After creating a facebook fan page for 'Zoe, with Love', my fine art photography shop on Etsy, I needed fans. I asked friends and family to join, but how many of us have 10,000 family members? I wanted more exposure on facebook, and one day came across the best way to get it! Promotion pages. There are pages on facebook that are created specifically to help business owners or fan page owners to increase their fan base.

Here is how it's done:

Create your business page. Invite friends and family, if you'd like.

'Like' the promotion pages (I have provided a list below), you may like however many you want, the more the better as they each hold 'liking ladders' at different times.

When you come across a liking ladder event, read the instructions, most will ask that you share the event on your wall, and then tag your page's username/link in the comment section under the event announcement/invite.
You tag by placing an @ sign in front of your username, it then turns blue.

Make sure that you are using facebook with your personal username (not your fan page or business page as the likes will not count) then start liking all the other pages.
An easy way to do this is by hovering over their business tags and a small box pops up that has the 'like' button on the lower left corner. Simply click on it and you've become their fan. They'll like you back and that's how you get your new fans!

It may seem strange going on a liking spree, but it really does work, I went from 100 family/friend likes to 600 by simply joining these liking ladders. It does take some time and you do have to sit there clicking like after like but in the end you get fans and expose your work to more and more people and that is the point of advertising.

Talk about your work, announce sales, be active and engage your fans. It's your page and so make it whatever you want it to be!
